My childhood heroine

I was not raised in the United States, so the shows that I watched when I was a kid may not be the same as the American children. When I was little in Costa Rica, most of the cartoons were from Japan and they are known as Anime. I watched many of them, but the one that caught my attention the most was Card Captor Sakura and the main character Sakura. She had all I wanted when I was little love, friends and magic.

Sakura Kinomoto was your average elementary school student until one day she discovered a book in her father's study. When she opened it the cards sealed inside the book flew away. Then a mystical creature named Kero appeared and told her that she was a descendant of the great magician Clow Reed and now she needed to recollect the Clow cards since each has a special power and can cause trouble.

Her best friend is a rich girl name Tomoyo who is obsessed with fashion and film. She would always make outfits for Sakura to use in her battles with the cards and then she would put it on film. I always wanted to have the outfits Tomoyo made for Sakura.
At the start of the series Sakura's love interest is her brother's best friend Yukito, but as the series advances and she gets to middle school she ends up falling in love with her ex-rival Li Syaoran when he confesses his feelings for her.

As I say before I just wanted to have the magic and courage Sakura possessed and all the adventures she went through with her friends. Also to have a love interest like Syaoran was what every single girl my age wanted back then.
